1. Dates.
Consider the time of year when choosing your special date. A spring, summer or autumn wedding would be beautiful at a farm, and the weather would be perfect for an outdoor ceremony or reception. But before booking, save your date at the Cherry Barn, but don’t forget to check if we are available, as we only cater for one wedding a day!
2. Guest numbers.
Although a rustic farm setting offers an intimate and romantic vibe, you can host not only intimate weddings but magical twilight weddings or go full capacity to maximise the party vibe.
3. All in the details.
A rustic farm wedding is all about the details. From the invitations to the décor, ensure everything fits your theme, colours or over-arching style.
4. Music All Day.
For those of you who want to infuse moments with music’s magic, if your budget allows consider having live music during the ceremony’s emotional crescendo to the post-ceremony drinks reception, where the tunes provide a backdrop for joyous mingling. During dinner, set the scene with a solo musician who will serenade your guests, creating an atmosphere that complements the delicious flavours of your meal. Then as the day turns to evening, and we are preparing your evening food, choose a band known for their ability to get everyone on the dance floor. With their energetic tunes and infectious rhythms, they’ll create a night to remember.
However, if you’re looking for a more tailored approach, consider booking a DJ who is present all day, ensuring that the perfect tune accompanies every moment.
5. Games.
After your formal ceremony, plan some fun games or activities for your guests to enjoy; this will help them relax, have a great time, and make new friends.
6. During your drinks reception.
During your drinks reception, add some interactive food stations that might include a Serano Ham carving served with delicious homemade pickles, preserves, and homegrown fruits like apples in the autumn. For your Vegan friends, include a bruschetta station, and for guests who love cocktails, don’t forget to offer them bar nibbles that might include everyone’s favourites like cheese straws, olives, nachos and pretzels, to name but a few!
7. Decorate the barn.
When you think of a rustic farm wedding, think dried flowers, pampas, and some real flowers; this not only keeps your costs down but also creates the perfect combination, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication.
8. Bring a blank canvas.
All colour palettes work at the Cherry Barn. This could be gorgeous greens or fabulous Autumn pinks, yellows and oranges or summer lavender coupled with pastel shades or hot pinks and colourful displays. You choose, and we will help evaluate your tablescape.
Intrigued? The Cherry Barn is not just a venue; it’s a love story waiting to be written by you both!
