The Castle is offered on an exclusive, dry hire basis, which is great for you, as it means we can be your bespoke wedding or event caterer. The season runs from mid-May to mid-December each year but during the winter months, the Carriage Barn remains available. The Castle is surrounded by extensive parkland (140 acres) along with beautiful terraced gardens, that offer stunning, uninterrupted views across the Sussex countryside. The gardens and private estate have been restored to their former glory and now make the perfect backdrop for your wedding or event. And, you can say your vows in the perfectly charming walled garden.
For couples lusting after a castle wedding with a modern twist, the recently renovated charming Carriage Barn offers you a modern function suite perfect for your indoor wedding ceremony, sit-down meal, or as a party-pad. It is also available for hire for other major milestones in life; from naming celebrations, special parties and anniversaries, to the gathering of those marking a family member’s passing.
For those who prefer a small and more intimate wedding, Wadhurst offers the gorgeous Winter Garden Room with its display of exotic plants, that are perfect in summer or winter. For up to thirty guests seated family-style on one long table.
In addition, the Carriage Barn and Well Courtyard are available Mid-January to Mid-May each year for daytime weddings and events. Both the Castle and the Carriage Barn offer space for dining for up to 104. For parties between 104 and 130 guests, a marquee can be placed on the South Lawn or can be erected in such a way as to become an extension to the Carriage Barn.
Start your day in the beautiful, spacious dressing room with en suite bathroom and unbeatable views across the estate. The south-facing room is flooded with natural light, enabling your photographer to get some amazing preparation shots.
The walk through the gardens, to the outdoor ceremony area in the walled garden, is stunning with beautifully maintained flower beds lining the way. The outdoor ceremony area is surrounded by brick walls that give you a sense of seclusion and intimacy. For indoor ceremonies, several magnificent beautiful rooms have also been licensed along with the recently converted Carriage Barn.
Following your wedding ceremony, your guests can spill out on to the stunning and impressive South Terrace lawn with its amazing views for your group shots, cocktail hour with delicious canapes, carefully prepared by Touchays of course.
After live music and perhaps games played on the lawn, your Master of Ceremonies (MC) can call your guests in for your delicious wedding breakfast which can be in any one of the three interconnecting reception rooms within the Castle or you can transfer to the converted Carriage Barn.
